In May this year, John and myself spent nine days touring around and camping in the Outer Hebrides. A one day ride through Skye, a couple of days on Harris, three on Lewis, and a couple in Uist before a last night in Oban. A complete mixture of weather as you’d expect from Scotland in May (And probably any other time of year) It was the most stunning part of the UK either of us have visited, from the barren granite of East Harris to the miles of untouched beaches in West Lewis. The scenery was breathtaking, the roads were quiet, the camping was cheap or free and the whole place was so sparsely populated it was an ideal getaway. Those people we did come across, whether tourists or locals, were as friendly as you could wish to meet. If you haven’t been, we highly recommend it. Here’s a few of our photos, they don’t do it justice.
